colours tv brings 19 million viewers culture; zero-g brought colours a striking new online presence
When the Denver-based multicultural TV network CoLours TV selected Zero-G Creative as their web agency, they did not take the decision lightheartedly. In fact, the intensive bid, interview and selection process began with more than 25 qualified firms vying for the chance to remake the online image for the unique not-for-profit network, broadcasting to more than 19 million American homes.
When Zero-G did engage in 2009, the expectations were clear and they were high. The new site not only needed to reboot the company’s online presence from a visual perspective but also needed to be dynamic, fresh and engaging; it needed to serve as home to a growing online video library; it needed to integrate with social media initiatives; it needed to be easily editable via an online content management solution; it needed integrated tools for managing advertising within the site; it needed to include a customized e-commerce solution that would enable easy online donations for CoLours enthusiasts.
When the new site at http://colourstv.org went live in January, 2010, it included all of those elements and more. One addition in particular that came out of the creative collaboration between the teams at Zero-G and CoLours was a feature called “TalkBack” where CoLours would pose a monthly poll question to their visitors and enter all participants in a drawing for a special prize being offered by a site sponsor. The tool also tabulates poll data, helps gather opt-ins for the CoLours monthly email list and picks prize winners at random.
