Q. What makes Zero-G Creative different from other marketing, web + design companies?
A. The Zero-G Creative difference is all about value. We have not found another firm that can match the quality we deliver at our price point and we believe that we are truly unique in our ability to make agency-quality work available to small and mid-sized businesses at prices they can afford.
Q. How do you price your projects?
A. It depends on the size and scope of the project as well as the skill level required to execute. Design is estimated between $75-$95/hr depending on the seniority of the designer. We rarely bill hourly, though; it is much more common for us to estimate/bill on a project basis and we always honor our estimates.
Q. Will you always finish “on budget”?
A. YES. The only instance where a client will see a price change midway through a project is if the scope of the project changes and a client requests work that was not budgeted for in the original estimate.
Q. How long do projects take to complete?
A. It depends on the scope of the project and it depends a lot on the client. Marketing and design projects are like partnerships and they succeed at the point where the client’s knowledge of their business meets our experience as marketers. And so the client’s level of engagement in the project and how quickly they respond to our requests can impact the timing a great deal. That being said, however, most basic design projects can be complete within a couple of weeks. Most web sites can be complete within about 6 weeks, depending on scope.
Q. Do you use “templates” or “site builders” to design web sites?
A. NEVER. All our design work is completely custom based on what you, the client, want and need. Templates are limiting from a design perspective and no matter how much work is done, a template will never produce a truly unique design.
Q. Will I be able to update my own web site?
A. Yes. We build the vast majority of our web sites on the WordPress platform which allows our clients to modify their own page content, create new pages and blog if they like.
Q. Will you post the web site to my server when you are finished?
A. Yes, we will post and test your web site on your server. We will also get you a .zip archive of your site that you can use as a backup in case something happens to your server.
Q. I don’t have a web server or hosting space. Will you host my web site?
A. Yes, Zero-G Creative offers affordable hosting plans available to our clients. We have a basic plan which includes 4000 MB of storage, unlimited email addresses and more. Our e-commerce package comes with everything our standard package does, plus with a dedicated IP address and an installed SSL certificate to facilitate safe and secure transactions.
Q. Do I have to use Zero-G Creative’s hosting services if I want you to design my site?
A. Absolutely not. We are happy to work with any hosting solution that provides adequate support for the work we do on your behalf. If you choose not to use our solutions however, you are responsible for providing your own hosting and (where applicable) SSL certificate and dedicated IP in a timely manner in order to keep your project moving smoothly. We also cannot support a third party hosting service within the scope of our web design projects.

Q. What server technologies do you design for/support/recommend?
A. Our web sites are all PHP-based and so will run best on Linux server. We recommend that any server we work on is running Apache and require PHP version 4.3 or greater, MySQL version 4.0 or greater and that the server support the “mod_rewrite” Apache module.
Q. How many designers will be working on my project?
A. In most cases, only one. Some design companies actually advertise that they put multiple designers on one project, but our strategy is different. Unlike the “shotgun” approach, we feel that we get better results by assigning one designer and taking the time to make sure that they understand your business and what you want to achieve visually and functionally.
Q. Can you guarantee that Search Engine Optimization will get me a top ranking on all the search engines?
A. No. Search Engine Optimization is a process by which we organize the content in your web site to make it more accessible and friendly for search engines. Your search rankings will drastically improve over a site that has not been optimized, but it is impossible to guarantee a specific rank on any given search engine.
Q. Can you help me with projects like promotional items, trade show booths and banners?

Q. Do I need to pay extra to get electronic copies of my designs?
A. No. Once your account is paid in full, you have full rights to any creative work you approved for use throughout the project. We will usually provide files in jpeg and PDF formats unless you request a different format.
Q. Can you take care of my printing for me?
A. Yes. We have longstanding relationships with a variety of marketing support vendors including printing, promotional products, trade show booths, signage, photography, videography and others. We are happy to help.
